Veuve Clicquot is a French luxury champagne brand founded by Madame Clicquot in 1810, which is today part of the LVMH group.

Context

Is entrepreneurship a man’s business ? Absolutely not. And that’s, in a nutshell, the idea behind the BOLD project, launched by three women: Carole Bildé, director of the BOLD programme at Veuve Clicquot, Marion Darrieutort, entrepreneur and founder of the governance and influence consultancy The Arcane, and Aurélie Jean, doctor of science and entrepreneur.
Together, they created the BOLD digital platform. Their aim ? To raise the profile of women entrepreneurs around the world by making key information about their activities available.
The team turned to Cartoonbase to produce an explainer video promoting the initiative across a range of channels, including the Veuve Clicquot website and social networks.

Approach

The BOLD database is an open and collaborative directory for women entrepreneurs. By enabling all those women to register their information, it opens up new opportunities for social and economic development across cultural, geographical and technological boundaries.
This is a first-of-its-kind initiative: the video therefore needed to explain the added value of the database in a clear and convincing manner, while generating enthusiasm among a wide audience. As data access and exchange is a sensitive subject, it was crucial to demonstrate the reliability of the system.

Challenge

To help BOLD women inspire each other and improve their visibility to the public, it was crucial to position the database as a global reference. Our animated video, with a tone both catchy and serious, showcases the prestigious image of Veuve Clicquot. It bridges the gap between luxury and digital, reflecting the brand’s ambitions.
The video demonstrates how technological tools can help women achieve their dreams and access new opportunities. The database is presented as a simple, accessible, and reliable tool to find inspiring role models. Using a warm and luminous vector visual style, our illustrators created streamlined and readable characters, reflecting the diversity of women entrepreneurs worldwide. This shows how the BOLD initiative leverages technology to serve women.

Impact

Our video has not gone unnoticed, contributing to the success of the database, which has already collected over a thousand entries.
It was broadcast for the first time on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Bold Woman Award, organised by Veuve Clicquot at the Olympia in December 2022.
The video was widely shared on social networks, helping to generate international press coverage of the platform.
